Childhood and youth
Armin was born on December 25, 1976 in the Netherlands in the city of Leiden. Dutch by nationality. The boy's father was fond of listening to modern music. In his childhood, Armin already understood various genres of music, fell in love with computer games, and began to show interest in new technologies.
The boy was greatly impressed by the work of the French composer of electronic music Jean-Michel Jarre. While studying at school, Armin was preparing to enter the law faculty of Leiden University. At the age of 14, he acquired an Akai S-01 sampler and, with the help of his father's synthesizer, created the first musical compositions, the demos of which he sent to musician Ben Librand.
He, in turn, immediately included the tracks in the collection, and the young man changed the equipment for new equipment with the money raised. In 1995 Armin graduated from high school and recorded the first vinyl record "Blue Fear", which gained popularity in the UK. After studying for some time at the university, van Buuren left his studies and returned to it only after 2003.

The first place of work of the aspiring DJ was the Nexus club. Armin's second successful musical composition "Communication" appeared in 1999 at AM PM Records and again hit the British charts. In the same year, after a series of many hours of concerts, Armin van Buuren founded his own label Armind. Gig's debut release "One" cemented the popularity of the DJ.
In the wake of success, Armin teamed up with DJ Tiësto and released Major League projects "Wonder Where You Are?" and Alibi "Eternity". Later, van Buuren's studio opened a number of subsidiaries - A State of Trance, 68 Recordings, Bandung, Captivating Sounds, Club Elite, Coldharbour Recordings, Electronic Elements and Fame Recordings - and became an international empire of trance music creation.
In early 2001, Armin launched his own show, A State Of Trance, on ID&T radio station. A 2-hour trance music mix is hosted by van Buuren every week on Thursdays.
The show reaches 30 million concurrent streams, forcing the creators to expand the show and make a video version of the performance from an Amsterdam studio. Every year Armin releases two collections of the most popular radio recordings.

Van Buuren published his first solo album “76” in 2003. The compilation includes two world famous hits - "Blue Fear" and "Burned With Desire".

Van Buuren celebrates the 10th anniversary of the A State of Trance trance show with concerts in the capital of South Africa, Miami, Buenos Aires, the Dutch province of 's Hertogenbosch and Sydney. In 2013 the fifth disc of the DJ "Intense" was released. It includes 15 tracks, including the song "Waiting for the Night", recorded with the participation of the singer Fiora, and "Beautiful Life" with Cindy Alma.

Personal life
