Ansel Elgort is an American film actor and musician, known to audiences for his roles in the films Divergent, Telekinesis, The Fault in the Stars and Baby on the Drive. 

Ansel Elgort was born in New York on March 14, 1994. The actor's father is fashion photographer Arthur Elgort of Russian-Jewish origin, who has worked for Vogue magazine for over thirty years, and his mother is an opera producer and director Greta Barrett Holby with German-Norwegian roots. Ansel's maternal grandmother, Aza-Greta, was a member of the Norwegian resistance during World War II and helped save Jewish children.
