Childhood and youth
Anna Vladimirovna Semina (this is the singer's real name) was born in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg) in the summer of 1979 in a creative family, Russian by nationality. The mother of the future Utah performer is an opera singer, so classical music has become a kind of background for Anna's childhood and youth. Parents, noticing the musical abilities of their little daughter, sent her to learn to play the flute. The girl completed the course and at the age of 11 began to master a new instrument - the piano. At the same age, Anya sang, shocking her mother: her daughter preferred not the classics, but the chanson, revered in the working-class district of Sverdlovsk, in which the family lived.

Music was not the only one: Utah attended the pool and rhythmic gymnastics classes. But the genes won: the daughter focused on musical creativity. The girl was so carried away by the piano that she continued to master the instrument in the capital "Gnesinka". Anna entered the school without a completed musical education in the piano class. Relatives did not believe that she would be able to achieve success in this field, but Anya showed amazing dedication and hard work: the piano department of the school named after A. She graduated from the Gnesins with honors.
After graduating from music school, Utah again surprised the family: she lost interest in the piano and took up jazz vocals. The girl took her first steps in this musical direction in her third year at Gnesinka. Tatiana Markovich gave lessons to the young singer, and Utah studied composition and arrangement under the People's Artist of the RSFSR Yuri Saulsky.
