Despite the fact that Andrey Knyazev left The King and the Jester back in 2011, his name is firmly associated with this particular team. Knyazev began his career in music early. Having studied in eight classes, he, fascinated by the fine arts, decided to get the profession of an artist-restorer. In the school, a fateful meeting took place. At that time Gorshenev had a group called "Office", made up of school friends. Knyazev began to sing in it.

The vocalist who joined him also took up the lyrics of new songs: a fairy-tale theme appeared in his work. This led to the change of the name: first - to "The King of Fools", later - to "The King and the Fool".

The first time under this name the group performed in 1992 at the premises of the Leningrad Rock Club. A little later "KiSh" played the first club concert. It took place at the TaMtAm establishment. Andrey Knyazev explains the phenomenon of rapidly growing popularity by the fact that The King and the Jester appeared not so much as a group, but as a get-together.

Even then, "Prince" was determined that music would become his main activity. And yet he managed to work by profession - he took part in the restoration of the Hermitage.

In 1993 he was drafted into the army for two years and served in the Vologda region in the railway troops. Knyazev admits that the military leadership did not interfere with the passion for music: the conscript often arranged impromptu concerts with a guitar. In addition, several texts for "KiSh" were written by Andrey in the army.

With the return of Knyazev, active promotion of the group began. In 1996, the debut album "A Rock on the Head" was released, which was greeted with approval not only by critics and listeners, but also by colleagues. The film "White Stripe" was shot, which included four clips.

Petersburg television repeatedly broadcast the tape, which influenced the recognition of the group. KiSh began to invite to festivals and tours. In 1998, the song "I'll Jump off the Cliff", the lyrics to which were written by Andrey Knyazev, in the first week after the premiere, topped the "Our Radio" chart.

In the early 2000s, all-Russian popularity came to the group. In 2002, The King and the Fool toured the country, playing up to three dozen concerts every month. As part of the collective, Andrey Knyazev receives a number of music awards.

In 2005 "Knyaz" released a solo album "Love of a Scoundrel". Sergey Chigrakov (leader of the Chizh and Co group), musicians of Aquarium and other rock bands took part in his recording. Dmitry Rishko was invited as a violinist. The next year he joined The King and the Fool and stayed in the lineup for 5 years. In 2011, together with Andrey, he joined the KnyaZz group.

This collective was conceived as a side project, but when due to creative differences Knyazev left the group "King and Jester", he became a full-fledged continuation of his creative path. The debut single "Mystery Man" lasted for many months in the "Chartova Dozen" of "Our Radio".

In the same year, in the summer, the band performed for the first time at the "NASHESTVIE" festival, and in the fall they went on tour in support of the first album "Letter from Transylvania". Along with new songs ("In the mouth of dark streets", "Werewolf", "Woland is right!") Knyazev sang hits of his first group on tour, the texts of which were written by him.

"KnyaZz" traditionally released a new album every year. One of the brightest was the disc "Magic of Cagliostro". The songs "Bastard" and "House of Mannequins" were published on it. The band shot a video for the second single. The style of the group is close to "KiSh", but the music, according to critics, tends more to gothic than to punk rock.

Andrey Knyazev was married twice. The first wife is Alena Isaeva. The second is Agata Nigrovskaya, photographer. The musician met her after performing in Novokuznetsk, and then twice accidentally met in St. Petersburg and on the train during a tour.
