The famous musician of the 90s Andrei Derzhavin was born in the city of Ukhta, Komi-Permyak district, in the fall of 1963. He was not the only son in the family; eight years after his birth, his sister Natasha was born. It is interesting that the senior Derzhavins were not originally from the Komi Republic. The father came to the north from the South Urals, and the mother was born in the Saratov region.

During their studies, as is customary in the student environment, Andrei and his friend Sergei Kostrov create a musical group "Stalker". Initially, the collective did not have its own vocalist; young people played mainly instrumental music. But by the beginning of 1985, the need for change was ripe, and Andrei took the microphone. 

As a soloist, he sang the first song of the group, which became the main hit of the musical album of the same name "Star". In addition, the collection includes compositions "Without you", "I want not to remember evil", which glorified the musicians in the late 80s.

The first vocal collection of the musical collective "Stalker" became so successful that the Philharmonic Society of Syktyvkar bails a promising musical collective. As part of the philharmonic tours, the young singers traveled half of the Soviet Union. The group immediately chose a pop direction for themselves. The dance style of the compositions pleased the youth of those years. The musicians of the "Stalker" group have a lot of fans.

In 1989, Sergei Kostrov and Andrei Derzhavin decided to travel to Moscow, where, at the studio of their friend Alexander Kutikov, composer of the Mashina Vremeni group, they create hits of new collections. The albums were called "Life in a made-up world" and "First hand news". 

On Soviet television, the guys record their first videos for the songs "I Believe" and "Three Weeks". With the last single, they appear on the Morning Mail program. The Stalker group is making a name for itself of all-Union significance.

On New Year's holidays in 1990, the television broadcast of the country's main channel literally tore apart the musical hit "Don't Cry, Alice", after which a real hysteria of popularity around the name of Andrei Derzhavin began. Began his pursuit by distraught fans who were guarding the singer everywhere: at the exit from the house, near the Sintez music studio.

Many fans immediately noticed the similarity of their idol with another rising star - Yuri Shatunov, although they were not brothers. What is their age difference - even loyal fans of Andrey could not understand, since he always looked younger than his age.

The song "Don't Cry, Alice" became the last joint work of the musicians of the "Stalker" group, after which in 1992 the team stopped its creative activity. Despite the gap, the musicians gather once in 1993 to take part in the Song of the Year competition. This farewell exit earns them the title of laureates of the annual song contest.

In the early 90s, Andrei Derzhavin was invited to the magazine "Komsomolskaya Zhizn" as a music editor, as well as to the position of the host of the popular music program of the Central Television "Shire Krug". Gradually, the paths of friends diverge in different directions. Sergei Kostrov begins to work on his project "Lolita", and Andrei Derzhavin goes into a solo career. He becomes one of the most popular pop singers of that time.

In the following year, after the breakup of the Stalker group, Derzhavin, in one breath in a row, writes his best songs “Someone else's wedding”, “Brother” and receives for their performance another award of the Song of the Year-94 competition. The popular album of the singer "Lyric Songs" is being sold out very quickly. 

Many fans also fell in love with the musical composition of this collection "Cranes". In parallel with his creative work, Andrey was invited as one of the judges to the then popular competition for young performers "Morning Star".

In the 90s, the artist travels a lot, records in the studio and on television. During this time, he creates 4 solo albums, 20 songs of which have become hits of the era. These are such compositions as "Forget about me", "Katya-Katerina", "For the first time", "Merry swing", "Natasha", "The one that leaves in the rain". Together with the popular performers of that time, Alena Apina and Vyacheslav Dobrynin, he creates the songs "Several hours of love" and "Do not forget your friends."

In the early 90s, Andrei Derzhavin struck up a close friendship with the talented musician and poet of his time, Igor Talkov. At the concert at which Talkov was shot, his friend Andrei also performed. He is not the only performer who, after his death, helped with the burial of Talkov. For these purposes, Mikhail Muromov also arrived in St. Petersburg, and Oleg Gazmanov helped to transport the farewell to the cemetery and back.

In 1994, in memory of his friendship with Igor Derzhavin, he wrote the song "Summer Rain", which also gained popularity among the singer's fans. In addition, Andrei Derzhavin took care of the Talkov family: his wife and son. As far as possible, he helped them financially.

Andrei Derzhavin met his only love, Elena Shakhutdinova, while still at the institute's bench. Since then, they have not parted. The strong Derzhavin family can be considered the standard of loyalty and love, and all this thanks to the wisdom of his wife Elena. In 1986, the firstborn of the Derzhavins, Vladislav, was born, and their daughter Anyuta was born only in 2005.
