Biography


Anatoly Semenovich Dneprov is a Russian pop singer, author of the hits "To please", "Russia", "My Armenia".

Anatoly was born on April 1, 1947 in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, in the family of Semyon and Sophia Gross, ethnic Jews living in Ukraine. By that time, my father had gone through the Great Patriotic War and, having suffered three wounds, received a 2nd group of disability. Later, another daughter, Larisa, was born in the family, who, later taking her mother, husband and children, moved to Israel.

Anatoly began to study music early. At the age of 5, the boy had already mastered playing the accordion and could reproduce the melody he liked. After graduating from the 8th grade of school number 9, the young man enters an industrial technical school, Anatoly decided to master the specialty of a master of control and measuring instruments. But after 2 years, Gross decided to storm the music school of the city of Grozny, where he failed the entrance exams in music literature.

Returning to his native technical school, Anatoly begins to engage in amateur performances and in 1964 again becomes an entrant at the Dnepropetrovsk music school. This time, after successfully passing the audition, the young man is enrolled in the first year. At the age of 20, Anatoly goes to serve in the army, where he does not waste time in vain, but continues to study music. The singer becomes an artist of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Moldova, under the direction of Vasiliev. While in Kiev, Anatoly becomes a volunteer in composition courses at the State Conservatory.

In 1971, after graduating from a music school, Gross created the first jazz band in the city on the basis of a pipe-rolling plant and began touring the Union. Anatoly quickly realized that moving to Moscow was required to achieve real popularity. The capital greeted the young musician with harsh everyday life: he had to cope with odd jobs and parcels with provisions from his homeland.

But gradually the talented performer and songwriter acquires the necessary acquaintances, and his musical compositions become part of the repertoire of pop stars Iosif Kobzon, Nani Bregvadze, the Singing Hearts, Cheerful Guys, Gems, Flame, and Blue Bird ensembles. The first poet with whom Dneprov began to collaborate in Moscow was Pavel Leonidov, the famous entertainer of the era. One of the talents was a poetic gift.

Together, the composer and the poet create the songs "Stars in the Meadow", "The Sea Is Asleep", "The Whole World", "Eye", "Rowan Branch". In the same years, Dneprov's masterpieces “Clouds in the river”, “I will not forget this summer”, “17 years”, “Russia” appear. In 1979, Mikhail Tanich wrote words to the music of Dneprov and the song "To please" appeared, a hit performed by Anatoly Semenovich. The musician becomes the author of the musical compositions of the first disc by Anatoly Mogilevsky "Broken Heart".

In 1979, Anatoly Dneprov decided to change his creative biography and moved to the United States, where he hoped to achieve world recognition. The singer settles in New York. Dneprov's group "New Ways", which he collects at first, is played by American musicians. He again takes up any work: he creates musical compositions in English, performs in entertainment clubs and restaurants with his own team, moves from city to city on tour.

The Russian emigration welcomes the Soviet musician warmly. Cassettes with Dneprov's songs "Confession with Lieutenant Golitsyn", "Russia" to the words of Olga Pavlova, "Stars in the meadow" to the words of Pavel Leonidov are diverging. In 1982, after a significant meeting of the musician with the first-rate producer John Hammond, Anatoly becomes his ward and begins to cooperate with the recording company Media-Max Studio.

English-language singles of the singer-songwriter "How are you, America?" ("How are you, America?"), "Good Company", "Lost". Information about the Russian musician appears in the leading press editions (Daily News, USA Today and the Bill Board). Dneprov signs a contract with the Hollywood director M. Zarkhi to create a soundtrack for the film "American Dump". At a music competition in Los Angeles, Anatoly Semyonovich wins first prize. Success is inevitable, but Anatoly Dneprov decides to return to his homeland.

In 1987, the singer resumes his concert activity in Moscow. In 1989 with the song "Address-Rus" he received the first prize at the "Song of the Year" competition. The all-Union tour of the musician began. During these years, the singer released the discs "Answer Willie Tokarev", "Rowan". In the mid-90s, the Direct Answer album appeared, which included the tracks "Innocent", "Russian Woman", "Wait", "Whole World", "Yalta". The collection "Without Breaking Loneliness", released in 1995, included the songs "Russia", "Taxi Blues", "And Autumn as a Guest", "One".

At the end of the century, Anatoly Dneprov pleased his fans with the album "I want to please you ..." with romances "Beautiful", "Cursed", "Autumn", "Love leaves quietly, in English." Personal life


While working in Moscow in the early 70s with the songwriter Pavel Leonidov, Anatoly Dneprov met the daughter of the impresario Olga Leonidova. She, like her father, was fond of writing poetry and became a co-author of the musician, taking the pseudonym Olga Pavlova. Soon an affair began between the young people, and in 1973 Anatoly and Olga were married.

A year later, the firstborn was born in the family - Philip. While living in the USA, the Dniprovs became mother and father again. In 1983, the second son Pavel was born, and in 1986 - the daughter Elena. Currently, the eldest son is engaged in entrepreneurship, the young man owns part of the shares of the Russian domain name registrar Reg.ru.

Death


On May 5, 2008 Anatoly Dneprov went to perform in Rostov-on-Don. The car came from Volgograd. Director Julia Kurenkova was in the salon with the musician. On the way, not far from the city of the Rostov region Belaya Kalitva, the singer died suddenly.

Doctors established the cause of death as a massive heart attack. The death of the 61-year-old singer came as a surprise to his family, friends and fans. The artist is buried at the Troekurovsky Moscow cemetery.
