For higher education, the young man preferred the Moscow Aviation Technological Institute. He successfully combined his studies with employment in the theater of miniatures. The era required actual drama, and students independently wrote plays for performances. So Trushkin got involved in literature. Gradually it became clear that satire is the main theme for the aspiring writer. He got a job at the Student Meridian publication, where they were looking for a comedian for field editions for a long time.

After graduating from the institute with a degree in engineer, Anatoly received an invitation to work in the editorial office at the headquarters of student construction brigades of the City Committee of the Komsomol in Moscow. At first he worked as a journalist, and soon became the chief editor of the press center.

Planning to be realized in the profession received at the institute, and putting journalism in second place, Trushkin got a job at a military plant. True, the satirist did not stay there for long. Nature took its toll. From 1971 to 1978 Anatoly worked as an announcer and screenwriter. By that time, he had already managed to try himself as a director and author of literary foundations for television shows.

Passion for theater and writing changed not only Trushkin's creative biography, but also influenced his personal life. In the theater of miniatures, the aspiring author met his future wife. Natalya Romanova became her. Anatoly already had a solid reputation, was popular, received invitations for cooperation from professional theaters, and hosted the Blue Lights.

The trip to the sports camp, where Natalya spent the summer, turned out to be fateful. Six months later, the wedding of young people took place, and soon a girl was born, who was named Natasha. Now the satirist's daughter is already an adult and is raising children herself: daughter Tatyana and son Nikolai.

The writer lives with his wife in their own apartment in Yasenevo. Close relatives bought real estate nearby, so Trushkin does not complain about the lack of attention from loved ones. Behind his shoulders remained the experience of living in small rooms of hostels and rented apartments, gained in his youth, so the satirist loves his home very much. Together with his wife, he gravitates towards wood trim and accessories made of natural materials, which can be seen in the entire interior design of the couple's apartments.

Having finally decided on the business to which he wants to devote his life, Anatoly Trushkin decided to change his qualifications. He entered the Institute of Literature, from which he graduated in 1974. The first humorous works of the author were in great demand.

The writer's monologues from the stage were voiced by Efim Shifrin, Mikhail Evdokimov, Roman Kartsev, Klara Novikova, Yan Arlazorov and other popular artists. In 1980, the writer became the creator of materials for the magazine Fitil.
