The Russian mixed-style middleweight fighter began his career in professional sports in 2009 and has not had a single defeat for a long time. Anatoly Tokov was born on February 17, 1990 in Tobolsk. The mother of the fighter is Kabardian, his father is Russian. Tolik grew up in the difficult 90s. This determined the further fate of the teenager. Parents approved of their son's hobby, but set a condition: school performance should not suffer.

Tolya's first coach was Andrei Mikhailovich Sabarov, who, according to the fighter, "brought up character, a desire to win, without fear of difficulties." Having plunged into a series of endless trainings, the young man very soon began to make his first successes, to lead in local competitions, to receive awards. And at the age of 18, the guy came to his first major victory - he won the Russian army hand-to-hand fighting championship.

By this time, Anatoly had already become the father of a little daughter. A family has appeared, a new responsibility. In a word, all this influenced Tokov's decision to debut in MMA.

The fighter joined the Red Devils club, based in Stary Oskol (since 2011, it has been called the St. Alexander Nevsky Club), one of the largest strongholds in Russia for MMA fighters. After the preparatory period, in November 2009, he entered the professional ring for the first time in the M-1 Global promotion tournament. In the debut duel, he defeated his namesake - Russian Anatoly Vintovkin. I must say that the debutant was 19 years old, and his opponent was 32.

In 2010 Tokov fought two minor fights. But in 2011 it turned out to be extremely fruitful. In May 2013, Tokov defeated another strong rival - Magomed Ismailov. The next year was marked by fights mainly with foreign fighters, which testifies to entering the international level. So, in 2014, the Russian defeated such titled athletes as Reinaldo da Silva (Brazil), Vadim Feger (Germany), Jordan Smith (USA), Inok Solves Torres (Spain).

In 2015, a significant event takes place in the life of an athlete. The fighter includes the world famous Russian mix fighter Fedor Emelianenko in his FE team, who takes the club in his native Stary Oskol under his wing.

In 2017, Anatoly Tokov signed a contract with the American promotion Bellator and made his debut in the States in February 2017, defeating Francisco France by TKO.
