Despite the fact that his photograph adorned the honors board, successfully passed exams for the third semester and constant "excellent" in the record book, the student took the documents from the institute - he was intolerably drawn to writing.

As they say, luck loves the brave, Anatoly manages to get into the correspondence department at the Moscow Gorky Literary Institute, bypassing the competition of 32 applicants for a place. Simultaneously with his studies, he began to practice as a journalist in large-circulation newspapers and leading publications of the country. As a result, as his thesis, Drozdov presented to the commission a collection of his own stories about childhood, which was subsequently unpublished.

Before becoming famous for his works in the genre of fantasy, Drozdov described in his works what happened in life. During the service, sketches were born about the everyday life of border guards, and after the tragic events of 1986 - the story "Quiet Post", dedicated to the elimination of the consequences of the explosion at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl, among the participants of which was Anatoly. However, the vigilant and omniscient Soviet censorship did not let the author's version of the book go to print.

Around the same time, Odin Against the Mafia, Executioner with Kind Eyes, and several short stories appeared. The events of the 90s (the collapse of the country, the economic crisis, etc.) affected both the literary preferences of readers and the activities of writers. In this regard, Anatoly also changed his profession, leaving teaching at the journalism faculty of the main university and taking a leading position in the Belarusian National Bank.

In his reflections, he also touched upon the topic of earning money, building relationships with the reader, literary studies.

And all because he himself has been happily married for a long time, although he is in no hurry to talk in detail about his personal life and family.

The novelist took his beloved woman down the aisle in 1983, and later the couple were already nursing their only daughter Katya.
