Anastasia Anatolyevna Tarakanova was born on April 14, 2004 in the Russian city of Volgograd. She grew up in a family of former athletes: her father was a swimmer, and her mother was involved in athletics. Tarakanova quickly got bored of figure skating and decided to return. Since Puchkova did not want to take her back, the athlete went to Irina Aksenova and with her began to win her first victories. Then the family moved to Moscow, where she studied with Irina Klimova. Anastasia developed a warm relationship with the coach, with whom she remained friendly after leaving for Maria Butyrskaya.

All this time, Nastya continued to study in a regular school, not wanting to go to a sports school. The skater decided that she wants to achieve everything with her work and does not need concessions due to status. She wrote essays on her own initiative, trying to develop speech.

The change of coach really paid off: the girl won the victory at the Grand Prix stage in Austria, took bronze in Croatia and successfully performed in the final. But very soon the skater got tired of being in the shadow of other pupils of Tutberidze. She started skipping workouts, and then decided to leave the sport altogether.

The situation changed when Tarakanova learned about the recruitment of Evgeni Plushenko to the group. Soon Nastya began to study at his academy and at first she was pleased with the results. In a short performance, the girl managed to give her all emotionally and demonstrate her acting talent, and the free program was staged to the Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven.

It is not surprising that Anastasia shone at the competitions in Ljubljana (2018) and won the gold medal. But again, everything turned out to be not so rosy, the athlete did not have enough ice for training, and she announced her retirement. Later, there was news of her conflict with Plushenko, who said that Tarakanova was kicked out of the academy because she was overly emotional. The girl reproached her mentor for lying and incorrect behavior.

The skater returned to Svetlana Panova, but again faced difficulties - she did not have enough financial support.
