Childhood and youth

Sasha was born in early 2002 in the cultural capital of Russia - St. Petersburg. Sport has been present in her biography from an early age. In 2006, the parents enrolled their daughter in figure skating, at first she performed alone. Boykova's mentor was the famous Russian coach Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin. In women's single skating, Alexandra did not manage to achieve high results for a long time, for this reason she decided to switch to pair skating.

Figure skating

Dmitry Kozlovsky became Sasha's first partner in pair skating, he switched to this discipline a few months earlier. Their joint training began in the fall of 2015 under the strict control of the new coach Artur Minchuk. The skater mastered the first support in her life with him. According to the athlete, when she began to rehearse these tricks with Kozlovsky, she was much more scared, since her partner is tall and still inexperienced.

The second half of 2016 was decisive for Sasha. In September, together with a partner, she went to the first international start. The junior stage of the Grand Prix was held in Mordovia. As a result, a talented couple from Russia won a silver medal. The second place in competitions of this level was a huge achievement for Boykova.

The second stage was more difficult for Alexandra, despite the prepared program, this time they managed to take only 4th place, but this did not prevent the young athletes from participating in the final of the Junior Grand Prix. They prepared for this stage especially carefully and managed to get the 3rd place, and at the same time update the result to 159.72 points.

The first Russian adult championship in Boykova's career ended in 6th place, which was also a good start. And already in 2017, at the Russian Championship among juniors, the couple received the coveted gold. Young age did not become a hindrance for them; on the contrary, it helped them achieve their goals. At the World Junior Championships, they also tried very hard, but took only the 2nd place of the podium. The first place was taken by the athletes playing for Australia, Ekaterina Aleksandrovskaya (previously played for Russia) and Harley Windsor.

The 2017/2018 season was a time for Boykova to gain new victories. At the Grand Prix among juniors, the couple received 2 medals at once. They got the second place after the presentation of the program in Riga, and the third - for the performance in Zagreb. This result allowed them to qualify for the final. At this stage, there were many other talented athletes among their competitors, the Russians were awarded only 5th place.

In the autumn of the same year, a couple of Boykova and Kozlovsky were waiting for a resounding victory at the international adult tournament of the Challenger series: the skaters received the second gold. Almost as well their efforts paid off after their performance at the Warsaw Cup in Warsaw, from where they returned home with silver.

The Russian championship was more difficult for the duo: although they improved last year's performance, they failed to rise above 5th place. So the season of Sasha and Dima ended, according to the results of the Russian championship, they did not manage to get to the world championship.

Before the start of the 2018/2019 season, Kozlovsky and Boykova announced the final transition to the adult level. The couple reinforced this decision with two victories at once at prestigious international competitions. From one stage of the Challenger series, which took place in Italy, the Russians returned home with silver. It was the traditional Lombardia Trophy tournament. They also presented a good program at the Finlandia Trophy exhibition in the Finnish city of Espoo on the Metro Arena ice, receiving a bronze medal for it.

The adult Grand Prix series was awaiting Russian athletes at the end of October, this was the second stage of Skate Canada International, which took place in the suburbs of Montreal. Although the couple showed their best personal result that day, with the number of points they earned, they managed to take only 4th position. But in the free program, the duo was more lucky: the stage ended for Alexandra and Dmitry with silver.

At a performance in France, the skaters became bronze medalists, but this did not help them to reach the Grand Prix finals. Although the duo won the short program, the free program failed. Despite numerous trainings, they made a mistake in the throw and parallel jump.

For the first time, Alexandra and Dmitry entered the podium at the Russian Championship in 2019. Then the couple got the 3rd place. This result led them further, young people entered the application for the European Championship. The second place that day went to the Canadians, and the third - to Alexandra's compatriots.

Following this, a new competition season started. The Canadian Grand Prix ended in victory for Sasha and her partner. Almost immediately, the girl posted a photo and a post on Instagram with gratitude to the fans, coaches, parents and everyone who supported her at this crucial moment.

In total, the pair managed to score 234.58 points and took 1st place, the second and third also went to the Russians - Evgenia Tarasova with Vladimir Morozov and Daria Pavlyuchenko with Denis Khodykin.
