From the very childhood she was active and restless. At the age of 10, she persuaded her grandmother to take her to the karate section. This did not please the mother of the girl, who wanted her daughter to study music. But, despite her efforts, Alexandra never mastered the piano. Sometimes she plays for herself, but loves to listen more.

Parents divorced early. After leaving school, the girl moved to her father in Moscow, where she entered the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property, the department of copyright. But even during her studies, she realized that she was more drawn to sports.

The first coach was Nikolai Kazny. Thanks to him, the young athlete participated in karate competitions in her native Moldova, as well as in Russia and Ukraine. In 2006 she won the JKS European Championship. After moving to Moscow, the girl continued to practice martial arts. She managed to win the karate championship in Russia 2 times.

Alexandra began her career as an MMA fighter in Thailand under the guidance of coach Andrei Tsarkov. She won 4 fights, after which she came to Russia to fight Lyubov Demidova. Albu defeated her rival in the 1st round.

The success of the Russian athlete attracted the attention of UFC representatives. Already in 2013, the girl signed a contract with the organization. Sam Cardan became its promoter.

Alexandra was supposed to debut during a fight with American Julia Kedzie, but suffered a leg injury. This became a difficult moment in the girl's biography. I had to give up the competition to recover.

The first fight as a UFC representative took place in April 2015 against Isabella Badurek. Albu won in the 2nd round.

In February 2019, the athlete fought with Emily Whitmir. The fight took place in the USA, in the city of Phoenix, and ended with Albu's first defeat in history as an MMA fighter. Already in the first round, the American used a chokehold on her.
