The last concert Vertinsky gave on the day of his own death. On the evening of May 21, 1957, the actor became ill. A couple of hours later, Vertinsky passed away. Doctors declared the cause of death to be acute heart failure: age and experiences did their job. The grave of Vertinsky is located at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow.
