But with age, Panchin overcame childhood delusions, proving their illogicality. The young man was determined to connect life with science in order to be able to further debunk the myths, prejudices and superstitions that confuse most people.

After the 4th grade, Alexander moved from a secondary school to a gymnasium, where he began to study in depth subjects of a biological profile. The scientist remembered the lessons of the "scientific method", in which the students together with the teachers set up experiments and conducted research. At home, the boy had additional classes in mathematics, physics and chemistry, because he was preparing to enter the largest Russian university - Moscow State University. Panchin's student years passed at the Faculty of Bioinformatics and Bioengineering.

When his studies at the university came to an end, the biologist began working at the Russian Academy of Sciences at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems named after Alexander Kharkevich. In parallel, he collaborated with Forbes, Around the World and Novaya Gazeta as a freelance journalist. During this period, the young man continued to debunk myths about science by participating in discussions on forums on the Internet.

In 2011, Panchin defended his Ph.D. thesis and thought about writing his own book. Soon the first chapters of the novel "Apophenia" appeared on the page of his blog in LiveJournal. The author described a world in which so-called pseudoscience flourishes. Medical diagnostics were replaced by extrasensory perception and palmistry, and instead of drugs - homeopathy and holy water. Alexander showed the degradation and approaching death of the planet, which caused a violent reaction from users. The printed version of the publication was released only in 2019.

The man is known for his statements in defense of the cultivation of genetically modified organisms. He published a review in the journal Critical reviews in biotechnology in which he criticized the articles on the dangers of GMOs, and also created the book "The Sum of Biotechnology", which describes the main myths and fears imposed on ordinary people.
