The biography of the permanent leader of the "Little Prince" group began in February 1968 in a family far from creative work. Father Valery Mikhailovich is a researcher, mother Nadezhda Nikolaevna is an engineer. Later, his stepfather Vladimir Ilyich, who taught at the institute, entered Sasha's life. The first album, alas, remained the only one in the biography of The Little Prince. In 1994 the disc was reissued, adding as bonuses "Wet Asphalt" and "Autumn" by Igor Nikolaev. In addition, the album featured the song "You betrayed love" written by Sergei Trofimov, known in the musical community as Trofim and who at that time worked with Svetlana Vladimirskaya.

Alexander's active work on the stage continued until 1993, until the next round of the crisis in the country. In 2006, Khlopkov bought the rights to songs performed by the Little Prince from Andrei Lityagin. A scandal subsequently erupted. The former producer claimed that he entered into an agreement with Khlopkov at a time when he himself did not have the rights to the works. Therefore, the transaction, in legal terms, is null and void.

In court, it turned out that Lityagin transferred the exclusive copyrights to JAM Group International and at the same time to three other persons, which means that he could not sign anything on his own behalf. As a result of long proceedings, the court sided with the soloist.

In the new century, in the wake of the renewed interest in disco music, Alexander again entered the stage. Songs "Goodbye", "I don't know why I need you", "Bigfoot" found a second youth. In addition to old hits, Khlopkov performs with new compositions - "Never", "April", "On the edge of the sky".

With his first wife, whose name Khlopkov does not name, family life did not work out. The musician met his second wife, Polina, on a tour in Germany, but the girl was Russian by birth.
