Alexander Gvozdik is a Ukrainian professional boxer. The athlete performs in the light heavyweight category. Behind him resounding victories: 3rd place at the 2012 Olympics in Great Britain, triumph at the 2013 Universiade, the NABF light heavyweight boxing championship. In 2018, the athlete became the WBC champion. Alexander is the Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine.

Alexander Gvozdik was born in Kharkov on April 15, 1987. The boy became interested in martial arts thanks to his father. Already in the 5th grade, Sasha attended the kickboxing section. After several months of training, he was imbued with an interest in boxing and changed his profile direction. In the first amateur fight, Sasha was the winner. At the age of 10, he started going to trainings at the Metalist club. The coach Alexander Volodchenko was involved in the development of the athlete.

In 2014, Gvozdik began cooperation with the sports organization Top Rank. The first professional fight took place in early April. Already in 2016, Alexander knocked out Najib Mohammedi, a former contender for the world title, on the floor of the ring, and in July he met Tommy Carpensey. In November, the athlete defeated Isaac Chilemba and already in March 2018 became the leader of the meeting with Mehdi Amar, becoming the WBC world champion in his category.

The victory over Adonis Stevenson in December 2018 brought the athlete the champion title again. True, it was temporary.

Together with his family, Alexander Gvozdik lives in the USA. The athlete met his wife Daria in Ukraine. They moved to America when they were already parents of two children. In a new place, the couple had a third child. In an interview, Alexander often admits that he is happy in his personal life, since his wife is his close friend.
