On May 28, 2019, by decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the former Minister of Finance, famous politician Oleksandr Danilyuk was appointed to the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. This is permissible, since immediately after the birth of the child, Sasha's family moved to Kiev. There, father Alexander Petrovich became the head of a research institute, and mother Lyudmila Vladimirovna worked as a university teacher of cybernetics.

Having inherited the inclinations of his parents, Alexander graduated from the physics and mathematics class of high school and in the early 1990s entered the higher educational institution, now known as the National Polytechnic University of Ukraine.

There is evidence that Danilyuk's first specialty was engineering and electrical engineering, but the bulk of sources claim that the young man studied law and lawyer from the very beginning. One way or another, the future politician received a degree in jurisprudence and, in parallel, a financial education at the Ukrainian Institute of Investment.

The desire to improve his qualifications forced Alexander to continue his studies and, after graduating from business school and Indiana University, receive a master's degree in business administration, which allowed him to hold positions in management.

At the beginning of his career, Danilyuk did not think about politics and was content with prestigious positions in leading national and foreign companies. In 1995, Alexander worked as a broker for the Ukrainian company TEKT, and then served as the head of the investment department of Alfa Capital bank and manager of the foreign fund WNISEF.

The experience gained and the language practice allowed the young financier to advance further, and soon he became an international representative of the McKinsey & Company consulting firm. After a short period in Moscow, Alexander was transferred to London, where he obtained British citizenship and became the head of the investment fund Rurik Investment, specializing in real estate and land transactions in the UK and Eastern Europe.

In parallel with his financial activities, Danilyuk practiced law and was a defender of such famous personalities as Viktor Yushchenko and Boris Penchuk. In 2004, the man became the leader of the business support center and began to participate in national and public campaigns in Ukraine.

Such work took up a significant amount of time and interfered with the full performance of duties in a foreign company, so in 2010 Danilyuk returned from abroad and became a freelance advisor to President Viktor Yanukovych and head of the center for the implementation of financial and economic reforms.

In 2014, when a change of power took place in Ukraine, the interim head of state Oleksandr Turchynov relieved the financier from his post, but Oleksandr managed to stay in the political elite and become the ministerial representative of President Petro Poroshenko. Probably, the new leader liked the work with an experienced employee, and in September 2015 Danilyuk was appointed the official deputy head of the presidential administration.

Thanks to statements about the impossibility of cooperation with Russia and the need to integrate into the Western economy, Alexander Alexandrovich was appointed Minister of Finance in the government of Vladimir Groisman, formed in 2016.

In parallel, the former investor was solving problems with personal financial interest in the activities of foreign companies "Rurik Real Estate Investment Limited" and "CEE Investment & Advisory LLP". As a result, he had to give up foreign citizenship and continue his career among citizens of Ukrainian nationality.

Having cleared his reputation, Danilyuk demanded the expansion of powers and the right to independently engage in personnel policy within the ministry. But the prime minister did not appreciate the zeal shown, and in June 2018, the Verkhovna Rada decided to dismiss the head of the finance cabinet from his post. Despite this, Alexander Alexandrovich remained in politics and took an active part in the election campaign of the candidate for the post of President of Ukraine - showman Volodymyr Zelensky.

Official sources contain little information about the personal life of the new secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine. Reporters know that he has a wife and two children who live, work and study in the UK.
