About 'lavish', Life

I'm a girl in the fourth grade, and I didn't work at all, and since last year I've only found an internship in what I'm studying. I don't go to discos either. But sometimes we drink in our room. I don't care what anyone else says. My university colleagues used to say to me ,Come on, you're not going to work, you're the only one who's unemployed and you're spending the money on a vate," and I'm even laughing. And you put those cashiers down and get some other girls. I guess your problem is that you don't like the cashiers, not that people make fun of you.

You universities seem to have them for a kind of cafes. I am at the age of your parents, my higher education I have received in Russia, and now I teach at a Bulgarian university and the likes of you are in front of my eyes every day. I look at you and wonder how to convince you that the student years are to learn, this is your main job at this stage. If you spend time delivering pizzas rather than libraries, it can be done to deliver these pizzas for the rest of your life. Diploma in itself is nothing, the knowledge against which it is obtained is important. I know life is hard, there's a lot of money, but it's not just now. You know the sustainable word "poor student"? Students have always calculated their pennies. When I followed, my main food was boiled potatoes, biscuits, carrots and fat - that was in the shops, and so much I could afford. All my time, me and my colleagues spent time over the books (I graduated from literature), thought it a terrible disgrace not to take an exam, and the demands of the professors, by the way, were to heaven. Units of us worked freelance - as translators or book editors, i.e. on a piece that allowed them to have their time and allocate it so that prioritising the university. But, frankly, I'm telling you, author, those five years I've devoted completely to my future profession are the most meaningful investment I've ever made. When I returned to Bulgaria, I was light years away as a level of education relative to my peers graduated here, they just weren't in my competition. In fact, never in my entire professional career have I encountered serious competition and not because I have some special gifts, but because I have a high education. No one can convince me that it works while working as a waitress or cashier and reading campanial only to take the exams. A minimum of 90% of the students who appear on my subject, if I actually appreciated their foremen, I would break them without any hesitation, but according to the distorted rules of Bulgarian universities we should cut you because you pay your fees. So, author, keep in mind that your school itself is not your best friend and does not tell you in the eyes the truth about your ignorance. You'il learn it from employers when they start bringing you back from the door, because people with the skills of cashiers in a supermarket don't need it. The only meaningful work I even recommend you to look for is the one that is connected to your specialty or has some intersections with it. Look out for young recruits, they usually lurk around sophomores and third-year students and sometimes offer excellent career opportunities for students. But in this case, you know, the companies are going to be looking for you at the university, not the checkout in the store. I know you won't listen to me, young man. You can't wait to start picking the fruit, forgetting you haven't planted the tree yet. But if you at least think about what I'm trying to tell you, you might understand why my generation was proud of the status of "poor student" and why today you're ashamed that your pockets are empty, and you're not ashamed that your heads are empty.
