Abdulmanap was born in the winter of 1962 in the Dagestan village of Sildi. His passion for sports began with a visit to the freestyle wrestling section, where after a while he began to show excellent results. In his youth, the young man trained hard, and soon these works were awarded the title of master of sports.

Like other young people, the wrestler went to serve in the army and there he became interested in judo and sambo. Several years were enough for him to study various combat techniques and perfectly master the ability to use techniques. In the future, this became a good help for working in sports sections.

According to traditions, Dagestanis try not to talk about their personal lives. In an interview, the man announced only dry facts about the family, and therefore the athlete's fans know that his wife Fatima died in the early 2000s. Raising children fell on his shoulders, having no other choice, he often took them with him to training. Khabib and Magomed grew up on wrestling mats, and therefore, by the age of two, they were skillfully demonstrating elementary techniques.

The title of the champion of Ukraine in sambo and judo was not long in coming. In his younger years, the man was athletic and fit (the exact height and weight are unknown), clearly followed the shape and tried to adhere to proper nutrition.

Nurmagomedov quickly reached the level at which he was ready to train young people. In the early 1990s, he returned to Dagestan and started work. The champion's first "client" was his younger brother, who also quickly absorbed all the knowledge he had gained and in 1992 became the world champion in combat sambo. Over time, he had other students, the man created and took over as head coach at the School of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, through which a huge number of athletes who became champions later passed.

The son of Khabib Abdulmanap also trained from childhood, and by the age of 16 he became the strongest athlete in Dagestan. His father taught the young man the art of sambo and judo, then worked out the technique of strikes with him. He also turned to a specialist specializing in fighting with gloves, and already from him Nurmagomedov Jr. learned how to properly strike. The guy showed excellent results, and soon he was noticed by a major UFC promotion in MMA, who offered to sign a contract. At different times, the athlete performed in several weight categories (light and featherweight). In the spring of 2018, he won the UFC lightweight title, and in the fall he defended it in a fight with Conor McGregor, which the whole world was talking about.

It is worth noting that an important component of Abdulmanap's career is working with children. The man periodically organizes tournaments in Russia and the CIS countries, attends fight clubs and children's sections, where he transfers knowledge to the new generation. Khabib's son helps him in this.

Although Abdulmanap has been in sports for a long time, he is not going to end his coaching career yet. Now the man continues to work with athletes and nurture new champions. In 2019, this achievement of Nurmagomedov was marked by the entry of his name into the Russian Book of Records as a coach who, over his entire career, raised 18 people who became world champions in combat sambo. During the time spent in the halls, he managed to work with Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov, Shamil Zavurov, Marat Magomedov and other talented fighters.
